About Zonta and Club Membership

Membership in Zonta International and the Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX is very rewarding. We are an international women's service organization dedicated to advancing the status of women locally and globally. Membership is a responsibility that requires time, resources, and financial commitments.  In this Service Club, volunteer time and talents in initiating changes that will strengthen women’s role in the world. • Participate in service projects that empower women worldwide, help women to achieve their aspirations and enjoy a better quality of life • Advocate Zonta’s position on women’s issues locally and internationally, safeguarding women’s rights as human rights • Achieve greater impact on the international platform by combining our voices with like-minded organizations and through our consultative status with the United Nations as a non-governmental organization • Work with government and community leaders who share common goals • Encourage and help students to develop leadership skills, explore career options, and participate in community projects

Membership Eligibility and Classification 

Membership is open to female professionals in a recognized business, institution, professional occupation, or who have retired. They must be willing to support the objectives of Zonta International.  Member classification is based on occupations or prior occupations and the Zonta International classification system, which is based on the International Standard Classification of Occupations.

Our Invitation

We invite you to attend and participate in our dinner meetings, fundraisers, and special activities. This will allow you to get to know our dynamic members and assess your interest and eligibility in Zonta.  The better you get to know us (and we get to know you) the better you can assess if Zonta is a good fit for you.  Zonta Club of Fredericksburg General Membership meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the third Monday of the month at the Golden Hub Senior Center located at 1009 N Lincoln St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.

Member Responsibilities

As a member, you are responsible for regularly attending club and relevant committee meetings.  You must pay all dues, fees, and assessments promptly.  You will be called upon to serve in leadership roles and give your time, talent, and enthusiasm to the organization.  You are also responsible for identifying and recommending prospective new members.  As time and resources allow, you are encouraged to also attend area, district, and international meetings, workshops, conferences, and conventions.  We are an active service organization in Fredericksburg and are committed to making a difference in the status of women in our community.

WE ARE

Nearly 33,000 members belong to more than 1133 clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas. The yellow rose is the symbol of Zonta and the official colors are maroon and gold.  The Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX was established on August 28, 1954.  As a member of Zonta International, our club provides services that benefit women and children in International programs like

  • Days for Girls

  • Harhare School Scholarships in Zimbabwe

as well as in the Fredericksburg, TX community by assisting in programs that benefit women and children including:

  • Education Scholarships for women and high school girls

  • Literary projects

  • Adopt-a-Family

  • Fredericksburg Food Pantry

  • Hill Country Needs Council

  • Grace Center of Fredericksburg

  • Girl Scouts of Central Texas Fredericksburg Unit

  • Mom Center

  • raising funds for all of the above advocacies and services.

Zonta Club of Fredericksburg General Membership meetings are held at 6:00p.m. on the third Monday of the month at the Golden Hub Senior Center located at 1009 N Lincoln St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.  When there are special programs for outreach to the public, designated locations in Fredericksburg are used to accommodate larger groups.
